Welcome To
New Zealand
Breath-taking scenery, traditional Maori culture, and even world class surfing. Whether you’re the kind of person that wants to experience one of the best rated volcanic hikes in the world, relax in hot springs or try the adrenaline pumping activities, it’s all there for you in New Zealand.
Depending on your time plan you can visit both islands. Each boasting an array of options and hidden gems.
North Island
In the North, the Tongariro Alpine Crossing (voted one of the top 10 hikes in the world) holds some of the most unique views on this planet, with its emerald blue lakes and rugged volcanic landscapes.
Have you heard of Waitomo caves? If not, this is one of the highlights for sure. You can abseil down to the bottom of a hole in the forest, then zipline in the dark into the very heart of the cave. With a rubber ring in hand and dressed in a wetsuit, you jump off a ledge into water below. Amazing! Whilst floating in pitch black darkness in an underground river, you look up, to be mesmerised by millions of little glowworms attached to the cave roof that look like stars. Truly a magical moment and something out of a Disney movie. And if that’s not enough, then head to the geothermal parks with all the bubbling hot mud and shooting geysers from the middle of the earth.
Want to do more? Of course you do. Well after visiting Hobbiton (for those lord of the rings fans) you can also experience the south island.
South Island
Milford Sound is said to be the 8th wonder of the natural world, simply because of its rugged mountains rising directly from the water. What better way to view than to take a boat cruise surrounded by these dramatic cliff-faces and spectacular waterfalls.
Fancy getting out of your shell? Want to experience something new? Another tick from your bucket list? Best to head to Queenstown then! Known as the adrenaline capital of the world. There is literally nothing you cannot do here. If you wanted to jump out of a helicopter, turn into a base jump and land on the back of a speed boat like James Bond, you could probably do that too!
Ever walked over a glacier with spikes on your feet? Had a go at ice climbing? Well the South Island is also home to the fastest moving glacier in the world. Or perhaps you want to kayak in the sun around the beautiful bays of the Abel Tasman National Park, also known as “the Whitsundays” of New Zealand.
